Ghent University has a strong reputation worldwide for its research and innovation activities in the field of animal health. Its Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was number one in the world (global Shanghai Ranking) between 2017 and 2022. This is the result of a strong and multidisciplinary collaboration and teamwork. Since 2022, a Ghent University team composed of a business developer, administrative, financial and EU account managers, an innovation manager healthcare and two post-docs in animal health worked together on assembling and submitting a successful proposal for a ‘European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare' (EUP AH&W, link) in the Horizon Europe (HE) Framework Programme.
