PROJECTSThe research is embedded in two large European Defence Funds (EDF) projects that focus on developing innovative large-scale demining solutions using robotics and artificial intelligence (CONVOY and GENIUS). CONVOY (2023 - 2027): The CONVOY project aims to combine autonomous robot systems (UGVs and UAVs) with advanced sensing technologies to detect and recognize hidden threats, including improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and landmines.  GENIUS (2024 - 2027):  The GENIUS project aims to increase the accuracy of hidden threat detection and includes new effector technologies (robot manipulation, jamming, decoying, ...) to neutralize and dispose of the threats. Both projects aim to reinforce the capabilities of European armed forces in countering mines and IEDs, and at the same time i...
